need to be proficient teachers and subject matter experts.
need support from parents, students, and schools to teach effectively.
must have high expectations for themselves and students.
deserve administrative support with attendance, student discipline, and policy enforcement.
should always instruct and never enable students.
must be as concerned with teaching life skills as with teaching subject material
Schools.....
must reclaim lost institutional authority and lead with uncompromising conviction of purpose.
must be free of politics and political agendas.
must seek to serve the common good rather than placate groups of people.
must take responsibility for educational outcomes and student achievement.
must publish test scores and attendance for the local taxpayers to review.
must use data to inform decisions about school policies.
must work with parents and the state to make sure students are attending class.
must ensure that every student is working toward their human potential.
must ensure that students and employees are being held accountable to high standards.
must intentionally instill common values and teach citizenship.
